Delivery emails from your own address
Pro and Business · three DNS records, about ten minutes plus waiting time.
Delivery emails normally come from SurveyDeliver's address on your behalf. With this set up they come from your own address, for example surveys@yourcompany.com, so clients recognise them and replies come straight to you.
1. Add your address in the console
Open Web address & email, type the address the emails should come from and press Use this address. It must be on your own domain: free webmail addresses (Gmail, Outlook.com, Yahoo…) can't be used.
2. Add the three DNS records
The console shows three CNAME records. They prove to mail servers that we may send for your domain (this is called DKIM). Add all three where your domain's DNS is managed:
- Some providers add your domain to the name by themselves: then enter only
xxxxxxxx._domainkey. - On Cloudflare, set the records to DNS only (grey cloud).
- These records only add permission to send. Your existing email (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365 and so on) is not affected.
3. Wait for "Verified"
The console checks by itself; Check now asks again straight away. It usually takes minutes, sometimes a few hours. If the records aren't found within 3 days, check them and press Start again. Until it's verified, delivery emails still go out from our address on your behalf, so nothing is held up.
Stop using this address switches back to sending from our address.
