The basics
What does SurveyDeliver do?
It's the last step of a survey: handing the results to your client. You upload the files you already export, and we convert them for the web. Your client gets one link with your logo on it, with a map they can measure on, a 3D view of the point cloud, and every file to download.
Do I need GIS software or web skills?
No. There's nothing to tile, convert, reproject or host. Drop your files into the console and they come out ready to view, on the right spot on the map. If something can't be placed (a missing coordinate system, for example), you're asked in plain words before the upload starts.
Does my client need an account or software?
No. They open the link in any modern browser, on a computer, tablet or phone. If you set a password, they type the username and password you send them. Nothing to install.
Who is it for?
Drone operators, land surveyors, mapping and inspection companies: anyone who sends aerial images, elevation models, contours or point clouds to clients who don't use GIS software.
Files and conversion
Which files can I upload?
- Aerial images and elevation models: GeoTIFF, or a plain TIFF together with its world file (.tfw, and .prj if you have one).
- Point clouds: LAS and LAZ.
- Contours and line work: shapefiles (zip the .shp, .shx, .dbf and .prj together), DXF, GeoPackage, GeoJSON and KML.
- Anything else (reports, ECW, CAD drawings, spreadsheets): uploaded as downloads for your client, unchanged.
Can I upload results straight from Pix4D, Metashape or DJI Terra?
Yes, that's what it's built for. Upload the orthomosaic, DSM/DTM, point cloud and contours exactly as Pix4D, Agisoft Metashape, DJI Terra or WebODM write them: no re-tiling or web export first. See which files to use from each program.
How long does conversion take?
Small files are ready in a minute or two. A 2-gigapixel orthomosaic (about 3.7 GB at 5 cm) took 39 minutes on our first real project; a 250 MB point cloud took under a minute. The console shows progress for each file, and your client's page says "being prepared" until the viewers are ready.
Will my coordinate system work?
Almost certainly. The coordinate system is read from your files (GeoTIFF tags, .prj files or the point cloud header), including local grids such as the South African Lo systems and UTM zones. Your client's map shows a live coordinate readout in your grid. If a file has no coordinate system, you pick it from a list before uploading.
Are my original files changed?
No. Your client downloads exactly what you uploaded. The converted copies are only used to show the map and 3D view, and you can mark any file as "map / 3D only" if it shouldn't be offered as a download.
What are the limits on each plan?
| Solo | Pro | Business | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Largest single file | 20 GB | 50 GB | 100 GB |
| Storage included | 100 GB | 500 GB | 2 TB |
| Deliveries switched on at once | 5 | 20 | 75 |
| Your own web address and email | No | Yes | Yes |
Only deliveries that are switched on count towards the limit: switched-off and expired ones stay saved. You can add storage to any plan (see pricing). Uploads resume where they stopped if your connection drops.
My files are bigger than my plan allows. What now?
Our processing team can convert larger datasets for you as a separately quoted service. Contact us with the file types and sizes, and we'll come back to you with a quote and a turnaround time.
What your client sees
What can my client do in the viewers?
On the map: zoom, switch layers on and off, measure distances and areas, read coordinates in your grid, jump to a typed coordinate, save measurements as KML, CSV or a DXF drawing for CAD, share a link to the exact view, and print the map (or save it as a PDF) on one page with a title block. With an elevation model in the delivery they can also read spot heights, draw a ground profile, work out stockpile or cut volumes, and show the ground coloured by height or by steepness; with two aerial images they can compare them with a slider. In the 3D view: orbit the point cloud, measure, cut cross-sections, and switch ground, vegetation and buildings on and off. They can also pin notes to places on the map, which you are emailed about. Downloads can be paused and resumed.
Can I put my own branding on it?
Yes. Your logo, accent colour and contact details appear on every client page and delivery email. Pages can open dark or light, and visitors can switch. On Pro and Business you can use your own web address (for example deliver.yourcompany.com) and send delivery emails from your own email address.
Can I limit how long a delivery stays online?
Yes. Set an expiry date and the delivery closes on that day, with a polite page asking your client to get in touch. Switch it back on, or move the date, at any time. Each delivery can have its own username and password, or be open to anyone with the link.
Account and billing
How does the trial work?
You get 14 days of the Solo plan free, with payment details on file. Cancel before the trial ends and you're not charged.
Can I change plan or cancel?
Yes, any time, from the Plan & billing tab in your console. Plan changes apply straight away and are prorated. If you cancel, your plan stays active until the end of the period you've paid for. See our refund policy.
Who handles payment?
Paddle, our Merchant of Record. They take the payment, issue invoices and handle sales tax and VAT.
Your data
Who owns the data I upload?
You do. We only store, convert and show it so you can deliver it. We don't sell it, use it for advertising or share it with anyone except your clients through the links you send.
Where is it stored, and is it backed up?
Files are stored on Cloudflare's storage network and converted on servers in Finland. Uploads and settings are backed up every night, and deleted files can be recovered for 30 days. See the privacy policy for details.
What happens if I leave?
If your subscription ends you can't add new deliveries, but your clients can still open the existing ones for a period we tell you about by email before anything is removed. Download anything you want to keep in that time. See our terms.
