Straight from your processing software
Pix4D, Agisoft Metashape, DJI Terra, WebODM and others: upload the results as they come out. No re-tiling, no web map export, no extra software.
Photogrammetry and LiDAR software is very good at making orthomosaics, elevation models and point clouds, and much less good at getting them to a client who doesn't use it. SurveyDeliver picks up where processing ends: upload the standard outputs, and your client gets a map, a 3D view and the downloads, with your name on it.
DJI Terra
Zenmuse L1, L2, L3 LiDAR and mapping: settings and where Terra saves the results.
Pix4D
Pix4Dmapper and PIX4Dmatic: processing and export options, which files to pick.
Agisoft Metashape
Export Orthomosaic, DEM and Point Cloud settings for small, fast uploads.
WebODM / ODM
Processing options and which assets to download.
The short version for each program is below; the full step-by-step guides, with recommended settings, are linked above.
Pix4D (Pix4Dmapper, Pix4Dmatic)
- Orthomosaic: the GeoTIFF orthomosaic. If the project wrote the mosaic as tiles, use the merged file rather than the tiles folder.
- Elevation: the DSM (and DTM, if you made one) as GeoTIFF.
- Point cloud: the densified point cloud as LAS or LAZ.
- Contours: shapefile (zip the .shp, .shx, .dbf and .prj together) or DXF.
The coordinate system comes with the files, so the results land in the right place on the map.
Agisoft Metashape
- Orthomosaic: File > Export > Export Orthomosaic, as GeoTIFF. For large blocks, tick Write BigTIFF file.
- Elevation: File > Export > Export DEM, as GeoTIFF.
- Point cloud: File > Export > Export Point Cloud, as LAS or LAZ.
- Contours and shapes: export as shapefile or DXF.
DJI Terra
- Mapping results: the orthomosaic and DSM GeoTIFFs from the results folder.
- LiDAR (Zenmuse L1, L2, L3): the processed point cloud as LAS. Upload it as it is: there's no need to thin it for the web, the 3D view streams it in levels of detail.
WebODM / OpenDroneMap
- Orthomosaic:
odm_orthophoto.tif. - Elevation:
dsm.tifanddtm.tif. - Point cloud: the georeferenced model as LAZ.
Other software
Global Mapper, QGIS, ArcGIS, Trimble Business Center, TerraSolid, LP360, CloudCompare and the rest all export the same standard formats: GeoTIFF for images and elevation, LAS/LAZ for point clouds, shapefile, DXF, GeoPackage, GeoJSON or KML for line work. Plain TIFFs with a world file (.tfw) work too. Other files (reports, ECW, CAD drawings) go up as downloads, unchanged.
Tips
- Local grids are fine. South African Lo systems, UTM zones and other national grids are read from your files; your client sees coordinates in your grid.
- Big files are fine. Uploads resume if the connection drops, and multi-gigabyte orthomosaics are converted in the background.
- Don't convert first. Skip MBTiles, web tiles, Cesium or Potree exports: upload the originals and we make the web versions. Your client downloads the originals.
